09. BikeBug
BikeBug Communication System
When cyclists go out together, they often want to talk to each other. This can only be done by riding side by side, which is dangerous, because rarely is the road shoulder wide enough. BikeBug is a small, easy to use radio made up of 2 components, a radio housed in a stretchy, clip-on exoskelton, and the microphone/earpiece that contains the volume control function. The earpiece/mike is linked to the radio wirelessly via its own Bluetooth transmitter. The bike bug is designed to broadcast on the Family Radio Service (FRS) frequencies, the same band used by most inexpensive hand-held 2-way radios.
