American Express - Butterfly Card
A new twist to an old concept
As generations of consumers move from cash to electronic transactions, Butterfly may just get people to drop their wallet and reach for their keys.
Available to AMEX Gold Card holders only, the Butterfly Card is a foldable credit card and keychain carrier fused with design ingenuity. Intended to make the AMEX Gold Card more convenient to use, it is also a way to minimize what you carry. This convenient and compact credit card handles like a standard card, left halfway in the case with the magnetic strip exposed, or folded up in the case. Once folded, it slips easily into a pocket or purse, but it can also be used alone as an accessory or key ring, by attaching a chain or loop to it. 
This design solution addresses convenience and portability issues, making it possible for consumers to charge when they've left their wallets behind, and unlike mini cards, a major benefit of the Butterfly Card is that it works in all scenarios where a traditional credit card may be used, allowing for insertion into card readers and imprint.
