They compete in a heavily saturated category and had little design capital to call their own. After identifying a potential opportunity in the area of accessories designed to complement Apple laptops, Continuum set out on a path to make their vision real.

We gained a thorough understanding of the opportunity, users, and market in which these accessories would play, and then explored several aesthetic directions for the new line.  The goal was to deliver complementary products to the Mac experience, but with a flavor uniquely Targus.

The resulting “Targus for Mac” line includes two mice, a USB hub, a presenter, and a cooling pad.  Subtle visual references reinforce the association with Apple products, but do not overpower the already established forms.

Targus quickly gained traction with major retailers, with Best Buy already signed on to carry the line.
