08. Puzzle Pieces - Interactive Autistic Teaching Aid
Autism is a complex developmental disability that affects 1 in 150 children worldwide.
Even more concerning is that the number is increasing at a startling rate. Our team set out to identify how they might be able to help autistic children and families through design. Our research identified that there is a missing piece to the current teaching process. Existing teaching tools don’t offer a consistent learning experience or the ability to share important information between caregivers. Project Puzzle Piece looks at the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a proven teaching method to improve the lives of those with autism, and addresses current problems within the ABA workflow. It packages the teaching process into an engaging interactive game for the child and useful data recording tool for the teacher and parent.
