010. Squish Pin - thumb tack
The push pin was invented in the early 1900s and has remained largely unchanged.
Our design team set out to improve this iconic product. To do so, we identified several areas of potential improvement. When traditional pins are used to display images or photographs, they can ruin the image by leaving holes in the paper. Also, if pinning up several items, it’s often difficult to hold a handful of pins because they stab the user. These opportunity areas led to SquishPin, whose unique shape holds the images against the wall without piercing the paper. It also allows the user to carry a handful without being stuck, making the entire procedure much more convenient.
