Gaurav Rohatgi - Principal, Mechanical Engineer - boston

Education:
B.S., ME, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
M.S., ME, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Personal Trajectory:
Born in India, raised in Michigan, and settled in Massachusetts, life has been about broadening my perspective. Along the way I've fit a lot of descriptions: Hindu, hamburger lover, geek, husky, poor, sinner, Indian, foreigner, American, wrestler, Buddhist, rich, vegetarian, saint, player, jock, city slicker, car-nut, skinny (very briefly), frat boy, Catholic, husband, suburbanite, world's strongest daddy... just to name a few.

The love, creativity and thrills in my life seem to grow when my perspective becomes more inclusive and my interpretation of life gets less distorted. I like to think Continuum helps clients be successful through a similar process when it comes to innovation. To be able to continue life's journey while at work is a pretty good perk.

Virtues:
Analytical, Amiable, Creative, Honest, Loves learning, Observant, Open-minded (see vices).

Vices:
My daughter's pout, motorcycles, getting drawn into extremely geeky conversations, stubbornness and impatience that sometimes gets in the way of open-mindedness

Favorite Project:
I recently took my family to India. For my kids to be able to meet their great-grandparents and experience the differences and similarities in life half way around the world without suffering a mental breakdown or falling prey to parasites was a very rewarding experience.

Special Interest:
science and technology, social and environmental justice, alternative energy and transportation (including motorcycles), a good book
